Er, there are hundreds of students and young people supporting Hilary Benn to be the next Deputy Leader - just look at his facebook groups. Those 6 names were, as far as I can see, young people who hold positions of leadership in different parts of the party. Surely the point is that he is the only one of the candidates to have taken the issue of youth engagement so seriously in this contest.
I suppose that is why his supporters list consists of a small group of right wing careerists? Young Labour Lawyers? Thats just made up!!!
I have just read that youth paper, all 12 pages and feel like I have just wasted 10 minutes of my life. There is zero substance, not a single proposal or plan.
The only person who has ever wrote anything serious about the youth wing is actually Peter Hain about 3 years ago and Cruddas has been saying some serious things. I may not particularly agree with them but at least theyre not pretending.
